Due to new Covid-19 travel restrictions in place, a couple dates just opened up in August. In August on Cayuga Lake the bite on lake trout and other salmonids often is good all day long.

August:  14th  1/2 day PM (Cayuga), 21st 1/2 day PM (Cayuga),  22nd.

September:  3rd, 5th AM only, 6th, 7th, 12th, 14th – 15th (AM Cayuga/Owasco only), 19th – 20th, 21st – 22nd (AM Cayuga/Owasco only), 23rd – 24th, 26th, 28th – 29th (AM Cayuga/Owasco only.)

Expect top-notch fishing on Cayuga Lake in August and September for trout and salmon.  Owasco Lake really shines for jigging lakers from August right into November.  Bonus rainbows and browns are also occasionally in the mix at Owasco.

Pike action along with pickerel really gets going in October and especially November. Seneca and Cayuga provide pike and pickerel and Owasco is tops for pike at this time along with some nice smallmouth bass and once in a while a walleye.   November is one of my favorite times for enjoying mixed bag action on Skaneateles Lake.  You never know what you’ll catch – bass, lake trout, rainbows, salmon, walleye, perch.  It is a lot of fun.
