Cayuga Lake 8/12 midday
Did a last minute guide trip after getting a call from Erin last night. I had a trolling motor issue on Saturday and dropped off my Terrova at Boats Unlimited out in Utica Monday. My August is so busy I probably won’t have much time to fish on my own. Anyways I agreed to take Erin out with her son Noah starting at 11 am.
Fishing was slow for the first hour or so but then picked up. They winded up landing 4 lakers to 27″ before wanting to head in after getting a bit of sun (it was hot out as well when the clouds were covering the sun.) All in all a fun short day. Noah’s prior biggest fish was around a 3lb pickerel – now he has landed a couple 5lb+ trout. Erin’s best fish was probably around 8lbs. The boat traffic was light and the water clarity is excellent. Beautiful day to be out!
