Cayuga Lake out of Long Point 6/10 AM

Reports

Met Jamie and his son Brody at the launch today at 6:30 am. They are up here visiting all week long and had a trip scheduled for tomorrow.  I had the day off and we switched days so they could enjoy the pre-frontal fishing and not have to deal with the high north winds tomorrow.  Fishing was top-notch!  The guys landed 17 lake trout in 4 hours.  Fish ran up to 31″ and we had a 29″ that was very fat and probably inching close to 10lbs.  A couple wild lakers were in the mix.  The thermocline was not very intense with plenty of 50 to 53 degree water from roughly 30′ down to past 55′, so you could have lakers in a lot of depths and fairly shallow, though we did best from around 65′ out to maybe 85′.  White/chartreuse swimbaits did the work for us.  The half dozen fish I cleaned did not have much bait in them.
