Cayuga Lake out of Long Point 6/23 AM
Much slower day today with Dismal Dan and Dapper Dan on my boat and Dave along with Steve on Dave’s rig. Dismal Dan brought his banana for good luck. Each boat wound up with 4 lakers during the morning half day. Boat traffic was heavy today with abundant trollers around. They were doing well for the most part. We had great laker temps in relatively shallow yesterday – say 65′ to 75′. Today it was 115′ and out, though we caught a few lakers around 85′. Water temps inside of 100′ in towards maybe 50′ or 60′ were warmer than what lakers usually like, but weren’t lethal by any means so some fish were up a bit likely feeding on shallow bait. But overall a massive difference in water temperature after the south winds blew back the warm water from the rainfall and the season’s warming thus far. Both boats had a few solid fish dropped today. Best color was white and white/chartreuse. A few salmon have been around during the past week.
