Cayuga Lake out of Myers 5/16
Guided longtime client Gordon for just under a full day today starting at 10:30 am. Some parts of the lake are still producing top notch salmon action and I had Gordon working those areas today, both with conventional gear and his favorite method of fishing – fly-fishing. Action was excellent for much of the day despite the calm, flat conditions. He landed over a dozen mostly legal fish up to around 21.5″. Great fights all the way around with plenty of jumps. Plenty of other fish showed themselves. Water temps have stayed down around the 48 to 51 degree mark, which is making a big difference. The next two days will spike temps a bit, but we should see decent casting and fly-casting for salmon over the next two weeks with a little luck. All fish released today. We had two live lampreys come up on fish. Most had scars.
