Cayuga Lake out of Myers 8/29 + 30th

Reports

8/29: Guided Tony, Roger and Scott for a full day of laker jigging starting around 6:45 am. We made a long run north to start things off and worked back down the lake. Fishing was pretty good to start, with the guys catching 3 or 4 solid lakers and Tony nabbing a 28″ nice hard-fighting rainbow trout (hatchery clipped fish.) Fish were tentative and not hitting great. The guys all dropped several fish. Action slowed down as the day went on, with Roger having a great finish to the trip with a few lakers taken consecutively. The guys all caught fish – winding up with 7 large lakers and the rainbow. Boat traffic was minimal.

8/30: Guided Jack and his pal Kevin for 1/2 day AM trip starting around 6:45. Jack had been out with me around 5 or 6 years ago. He keeps his boat at Myers. Fishing was just superb today – no doubt about it! Around 24 to 25 fish were landed including a nice (also stocked) 22″ rainbow. A lot of beautifully colored wild lake trout were in the mix today. Great time and a great day out there. The bite slowed around 10:30 or so. Very few people were out on the water.
