Cayuga Lake out of Myers Park 9/12 AM
Got underway with Charlie and his wife Jenn today at around 8:45 am. They own a farm and had some chores to do this morning, hence the later start. This time of year, the bite is often best around midday, so it’s not a big deal. We had a very good half-day of fishing today with 9 fish landed – most being solid 27″ to 30″ers, along with a couple of dinks in the mix. Jenn had the hot hand no matter what she did! Lure color, boat position etc…It didn’t seem to matter. Most guys are happy to see their wives and girlfriends do well fishing, and Charles was no exception! It was a gorgeous, quiet, picture-perfect day to be out on the lake. We took our fish from around 100′ out to nearly 150′. The lake’s surface temp is around 68. The days are getting a lot shorter and even with highs in the low-80s, the nighttime cold temperatures are gradually cooling the lakes. Fun day! This Sunday remains open and it looks to be another banner day weather-wise.
