Cayuga Lake out of Myers Park 9/2 AM

Guided Alek and his friend Bill for a 1/2-day trip starting at around 7:45 am.   Fishing was fairly decent to start with Alek dropping a big rainbow trout on his second drop of his jig.  One of his goals today was for a nice rainbow.  Bill hadn't fished with me before or done the technique.  He wound up landing the first three lakers.  Alek missed/dropped another quick hookup that may have been a brown.  Our bite slowed for a bit and we made some moves.  As the day went on and the clouds rolled in, the bite picked up and Alek was able to nab a nice rainbow in deep water!  After that, more lakers came.  We wound up hitting the double-digits although we had one dink in the mix.  We kept the rainbow which happened to be a hatchery fish.   Lots of colors produced and then didn't for us today - the usual suspects.

We have begun the unofficial start of the fall fishing season!  Action remains as good on Cayuga Lake as it has been all year with good chances at rainbows, browns and salmon.  Seneca Lake continues to fish well, as does Owasco Lake.

Alek with his rainbow! Pure chrome!
