Cayuga Lake out of Myers Park 9/30 AM

Reports

Tough day today. I saw wind forecasts on weather.gov of north from 6 to 10 mph with some sun and thought we’d be in good shape for our trip. It was windy at 7 am with northerly gusts to 16 mph, so we postponed until 8 am. Things didn’t change much. Mike, his son Mike and son’s friend Caleb gave it a great go despite the 2’+ whitecaps. Eventually Mike Jr. managed a small laker, so at least we weren’t totally skunked, but the bite was very tough. The second day of a cold front, combined with heavy cloud cover and high winds really put the bite down. Winds eased up a bit before we called it quits at 1pm. Had we started the trip at noon, perhaps we would’ve done better but who knows? Boat control was difficult and there were certain areas we couldn’t really fish properly. A few hits were had but nothing solid.
