Skaneateles Lake 7/31 AM

Reports

Guided Dave and his daughter Bethany for 1/2 day starting at 8 am. Bethany just finished 8th grade and is thinking about rekindling her zest for fishing. Dropshotting provided some steady action on 10″ to 14″ smallmouths, rock bass and perch. Some fish were also caught on a Superfluke and Ned rig (that Dave brought.)

We did some laker jigging and Dave managed two small ones. One was around 16″, the other a little smaller. We marked a lot of lakers and a few fish were dropped – natural production continues to be good here. The boat launch was sparse at 8 am but by 1 pm it was filled up. Boat traffic overall was light. The lake was as beautiful as ever with surface temps around 72 and water a little high. Clarity was excellent and debris non-existent.
