Skaneateles Lake 9/10 PM

Reports

Got out on Skaneateles Lake this afternoon for a little bit of relaxation, and fishing of course.  I really enjoy fishing this lake during the off-season.  Leaves are starting to change and fall is in the air.  Fishing for bass was slow today, likely due to the cold-front.   I had a fair number chase some of my lures, but they weren’t very aggressive.  I tried out some new lures that I’d recently purchased on a client’s recommendation and got acquainted with them – we’ll see how things go in the future.  I wound up doing some drop-shotting in an area where I’d taken walleyes before this time of year and did manage one 16″ walleye, as well as plenty of rock bass and a nice perch.  The walleye was in good condition and came from around 30′ of water.  I had bass today from 10′ to 25′ of water as well.

Boat traffic was light.  Water temps on the surface were around 69/79.   Water clarity was good to excellent as usual.  This Sunday remains open for trips.  I also have dates open in the middle of next week.  Check my “Upcoming Availability” post for more openings.
