Cayuga Lake out of Long Point 4/14 AM

This Sunday (the 19th) just opened up for trips!

4/14:  Guided Day 2 with Steve and Dave.  Today we fished Cayuga Lake out of Long Point State Park starting at 8 am.  The park staff are working on a few winter "bugs" in the water system, so the park amenities (i.e., the bathrooms) won't be open until another two weeks or so.  The lake level has receded to just under "low flood level" as of this writing.  There was some debris in the launching area including some dock wood and more.

Fishing started out promising with Dave nabbing a 30"+ lake trout on his first drop of the jig.  We had double-digit hookups today and nine solid fish landed in our half-day.

Arkansas Shiner and White/Chartreuse Tail both worked well.  There were fish in all the usual depths - 120' to 150'+ today and some shallower as well.  The water is nice and clear and reached 39 degrees on top.  I cleaned one laker that had two gobies in its stomach.

Debris!

These dock planks with screws or nails are not good to run over!

30"er to start the day!

Steve with a 28" or 29"

A pretty one...

Dave's a pro landing fish with the cigar!

Nice one Dave!
