Cayuga Lake out of Long Point 6/29 AM

Guided Fred Sr., Fred Jr. and Matt for a 1/2 day.  We have done this trip annually over the past 5 or 6 years or more.  We were underway by around 7:30 and fished until noon.  Fred Sr. used to charter out of Sandy Pond back in the 1980s and beyond.  We had a slow pick in the early AM which then got a little better as the morning progressed.  The guys wound up with 10 solid lakers.  One did have a live lamprey attached which was the first I'd seen in quite a long time - probably since the winter, so that's a good sign.  A lot of 26" cookie cutter lakers from various year classes were in the mix. Fred Jr. also had a hold of a salmon that hit him a couple times then thankfully came off (it was around 14" to 16".)   Fishing remains excellent on Cayuga Lake for lakers.  Guys are also catching perch shallow.
