Cayuga Lake out of Long Point 6/5 AM

6/5 AM:  Guided Denis and his brother Jim for a 1/2-day trip getting underway at 7 am.  I was hoping that our earlier start would help us boat more fish as well as avoid the predicted heat.  We certainly kept cool on the lake.  We had a couple short hits early, but our best fishing came about 2 hours into the trip.  The guys managed 7 nice lake trout including two 10lbers!  Some of the fish we've had onboard over the past week have been in absolutely superb condition - fat, healthy and strong!   Yum Money Minnows did the trick for us today.  Fish remain deep, shallow and in-between.  Today the deep ones came through.  Bait fish were also moving in.  Expect a nearshore movement on bait soon!  Midges are pretty much done.  Guys are still hammering perch basically from Long Point/Dean's all the way to Ithaca.  Surface temps climbed up near 60 today by day's end, but most of the water is still in the mid-to-upper 50s.

Looks like possible storms tomorrow.  Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Friday remain open for trips this week.

Jim with a bona-fide 10lber!

Denis with a good one!
