Cayuga Lake out of Myers Park 10/18 AM

Guided Joe, his son Kyle and son-in-law Scott today for a 1/2-day trip starting just after 8:30 am.  In a nutshell, we had a very solid day today with double-digit numbers of fish landed, including some big ones - a 30" and a few 28" to 29s".   We had a double hooked as well.  We got right into the fish today and stayed on them, although the bite slowed down later in the trip.  Kyle lost a nice rainbow or salmon early on.  Overall, the fish fought well for the most part and our catch was a mix of bigger post-spawn (and even one pre-spawn) fish and younger non-spawners that were taking advantage of the immense schools of alewives swimming around.  We had a couple of older wild fish in the mix.  I cleaned a half-dozen fish today, so my observations came from that.  Joe brought along his own tackle and some interesting rigs which worked for him.  Hot colors for us included Arkansas Shiner and Limetreuse.   We worked 90' to 130' of water today with no real discernable difference in the numbers of fish around us (according to my Lowrance.)  The weather was great and foliage is nearing peak.  We just need some rain now for the other lakes and streams.  Cayuga Lake is low but still in reasonably good shape.

Scott got us underway with this fish

Another for Scott

Another solid for Kyle!

Another good one for Scott

My availability remains good onwards.  The best bet is to look at the long-range forecast and get a date written in.  I am flexible with the weather - we will agree on whether to do the trip or not for what you want to target.  Book now for best options!
