Fishing was a bit more challenging over the past couple of trips. Yesterday provided some good fishing for the most part, but today's bite windows were shorter and the fishing a bit tougher.
8/11: Guided Dan and his friend George today starting just after 7:30 am. Dan is 85 years old and as sharp as a tack. He'd done a little jigging before with friends, but used to book some trolling trips on Cayuga Lake. George has a nice place on the lake, but doesn't fish much. We started off with George nabbing the first two fish - both nice lakers. Dan had some hits but no cigar. We did some moving around and Dan wound up nailing a nice rainbow around 25" long. I thought he had a laker on until I netted the fish! It fought more like a good lake trout. Dan then nabbed a very nice 29" lake trout a little bit later. George finished like he started, landing a couple more lake trout before we called it a day. The fish bit fairly well throughout the trip with some short lulls in action.
