Cayuga Lake out of Myers Park 8/9 AM

Got out here just after 7 am with Gary and his wife Jodi.  They moved into the area a couple of years ago, have a boat and are looking to learn about the fishing here, so today was more of a tutorial trip.  I spent the first 1/2 hour or so of the trip going over tackle, technique and lake trout habits.  The bite was good first thing in the AM for maybe 2 hours, then the fish slowed up a bit, but we were still getting some hits.  I think Jodi had a fish on during her second or third drop of the jig!  They had a lot to do at home today, so we quit a bit early, but they did manage to land several nice fish topped off by Jodi's 29" laker.  Fish were from around 70' out to 110' today, with the better fishing being shallower.  Best colors were white/chartreuse tail and alewife.

Jodi did a nice job getting this 29" laker to the net

Gary with a 23"er - it was a tough fish to hold!

Jodi with a 27"

This Tuesday is open for a trip.  I also have August 18th, 19th, 21st - 24th, 27th and 29th, and then we're off to September.
