Guided Dan and his buddies Jeff and Shane for a 1/2-day trip starting just after 7:45 am. Fishing for lake trout on Cayuga Lake is pretty much in a holding pattern right now. We get a fair to good bite-window during the morning thermal, then it slows, then it picks up again as the wind for the day picks up.
We had a solid day today with lakers - I believe that 8 were landed. Fish were all decent sized. We caught them from 85' out to maybe 110'. A lot of different colors produced as well. Water temp remains around 68 up top. Leaves are starting to show some color. The weather has remained beautiful - cool and crisp in the AM, then seemingly hot at times when the wind dies down.
Next week, Monday, Tuesday and Friday are open for full or 1/2-day trips. I can also do a 1/2 day AM trip on Cayuga Lake on Thursday.
