Cayuga Lake out of Myers Park 9/9, 11, 12

Guided three 1/2 day trips over the past four days.  Lake trout action has improved and remains very good as of today, the 12th.

9/9 AM:  Guided Steve and his wife Sandy starting at 7:30 am.  We had a brutal trip a year ago with honking north winds ripping down the lake.  I didn't want to repeat that and neither did Steve, even though he managed a couple fish on that trip, so we moved our trip to Thursday instead of Friday.  It was a good call, and despite the slow bite in the AM the fishing picked up just before we quit and they managed to land 5 nice fish.  Quite a few were lost too earlier in the day.  I think our top laker was around 30" if I remember right, 30" or 31" - but in that ballpark.

9/11 AM:  Today was Jeff and Hoi starting at 11:30 AM.  The bite was very solid and the guys landed around 8 lakers in four hours before they were ready to head in a grab a bite to eat in Ithaca.  We left them biting which isn't a bad thing.  Fish looked good and ran 22" to over 30" again.

9/12 AM:  Today I guided Jack starting at 8:30 am after he hit a few delays on the drive up.  It was the best bite I've seen in the past few trips with him nabbing 8 fish in less than four hours.  Fish ran to over 30" again.  Depths ranged from 65' to over 120' - which isn't atypical for this time of year.  He likes to take home his limit for his smoker and then call it a day, but the bite was good enough for him to want to do a little catch and release after he got what he wanted.
