Guided Mark I. for a full day on Cayuga Lake starting just after 7 am. The lake is looking good - nice and clear. I had 72 degrees on top. Some areas were still murky/muddy and there's some small debris scattered around, but not much. Water fleas seem better as well. Fishing was typical modern-era Cayuga Lake August fishing - basically very good to excellent throughout the day.
We had some hot and heavy lake trout action to start with Mark nabbing a 30" and 29" fish in short order along with a bunch more smaller fish including a couple real dinks around 16". Mark had a massive rainbow nearly hit his jig on the surface in one area. A solid brown came from another area. Lakers are all over the lake - it is fishing more like late August than the start of August. Mark wound up landing around 14 lakers and one brown. A couple lakers were kept for the grill. Boat traffic was light.
