Owasco Lake 7/11 AM

Guided Matt and his dad, Bill for a 1/2-day trip starting at around 6:45 AM.  We had a full-moon last night, and I'm not sure if it affected the bite much, but the fishing was notably slower than what we experienced here over the past couple of weeks.  The angling was still pretty good and Bill started us off with the first two fish.  His second lake trout was a BEAST!   I was so happy that he didn't lose this fish after we all got a good look at it and it made another run towards the bottom.  The guys were on a "catch 'em and eat 'em" mission, so we kept the 32" 11lb. fish.  What a chunker!

We took a few more fish on both sides of the lake, as well as a rainbow around 19" or 20".  The majority of our lake trout were big, heavy brutes.  There's definitely some murkiness to the water in this lake.  I don't necessarily think it's algae, but it could be.  Visibility with lures is around 3'.

Cayuga Lake still has some clear areas but we'll see how everything plays out this week, after we get more hot temperatures.  Hot colors for today were Limetreuse and White/Chartreuse Tail.

Bill hooked up with his BRUTE!

32" and 11lbs.

Matt on!

Solid one for Matt!
