Owasco Lake 7/6 AM

Guided Angela and her son Wyatt today for a 1/2-day trip starting at around 6:45 am.  There were notably more anglers out on the water today than on my past few trips here.  What's there to say?  The bite here continues to be top-notch.  Wyatt nabbed his first lake trout ever on his second drop of his jig.  Before long we had a double going.  Angela didn't really even fish that much today, but Wyatt didn't mind - he kept the action going.  It was a solid double-digit day with Wyatt's best fish going over 30" and Angela's over 29".  Most fish ran 23" to 26".  We fished a few different areas and had action in each, although the hottest bite was during the first 90 minutes or so of the trip.

Client/friend Ryan reports fair to good fishing on Cayuga Lake right now.  The lake is in beautiful shape.  The early AM bite hasn't been as hot there as on Owasco Lake, but fish are turning on a bit more during the mid-morning. Seneca Lake is also providing some excellent action on all the trout/salmon species.  Some beautiful fat brown trout are coming out of the mid-sections of that lake.  We're finally on track with the weather and the fishing.  It's been a crazy season so far.

Fish on!

Not my recommended method of holding a fish, but you do what you can...

Some dates still remain for mid-to-late-July.  Book now for the best options.  August is still fairly open.
