Seneca Lake out of Sampson State Park 7/13 AM

Guided Dan, Spencer and Spencer's son Nick for a 1/2-day trip starting just after 7 am.  Fishing here lately has been as close to a no-brainer as you can get, needless to say I like easy fishing for guide trips.  Today started out slow - we had cloudy conditions and a light breeze.  Fish were around in the first area we tried, but not hitting well.  Spencer nabbed the first fish in around 30 to 45 minutes, but it was slow after that.  I had the guys work a lot of areas around the northern third of the lake.  Hits were had, but they weren't great.  Eventually (after over 3 hours) the fish started showing some positive signs.  Once the AM thermal died, our bite commenced.  Fishing was very good and I kept the guys out a little bit extra due to the tough morning.  A couple of doubles were hooked, with Dan dropping a nice rainbow trout when his line and Spencer's (who was also hooked up) got crossed!  Dan was reeling in his jig to get out of Spencer's way when he hooked up!  Best fish of the day was Nick's 31" wild laker!  It fought great and weighed in at 10lbs 8oz.  The guys harvested their fish today and most had alewives in their stomachs.  We had more wild fish than previous trips, so that was good to see;  we were fishing different areas, so it made sense.  Fish were 85' to 105' today.  Great finish to a fun trip!
