Cayuga/Keuka Shorefishing

Reports

12/18: Did around an hour of shorecasting on Cayuga Lake for lake trout. I was fishing with some homemade spinners and spoons I’d put together 20 to 25 years ago. I managed a nice 23″ to 24″ lake trout on a spinner. My buddy Mike was fishing another area (miles away) with a friend and they also got into some lakers with swimbaits.

12/19: Took a ride over to Keuka Lake State Park just to enjoy the nice sunny day. I cast various spoons, spinners and jigs off the shoreline for a good hour and a half without any definite hits, though I had two instances where I might have had something. But I wouldn’t bank on it. It was very windy (brutal) out and it was tough fishing even with gear.
