Cayuga Lake out of Myers 7/12
Had a solid full day of laker jigging with Brad and Hanna today. We had good north winds to start and some sun which changed to clouds and somewhat lighter winds. We fished mid-lake areas and had a steady bite with 11 nice lakers landed and a fair number (as always) dropped. Fish ran from 17″ to 28″ with most being 24″ to 26″. Three wild fish were in the mix. We had a few hits that were probably salmon. Fun day and very few boats were out. The forecast heavy rains pretty much missed Cayuga Lake and cool overnight temperatures have kept the effects of the algae bloom to a minimum. Some vast areas were algae free. We’ll see what the high temps next week do, but we don’t have rain in the forecast which is good. Fish were deeper today than they had been – 70′ to 100′ was best for us.
