Cayuga Lake out of Myers Park 9/1 + 2

Reports

Did back to back full days with excellent fishing on both days.

9/1: Guided Craig and his son Andrew starting at 7 am. Despite the cold front fishing was excellent for lake trout. The guys landed upwards of 22 to 24 fish on the day up to around 30″. We have had good numbers of wild lake trout in the mix over the past two weeks. I’m not sure why we didn’t encounter them earlier in the year, but they are around. Lamprey activity was very low. Great day and the bite kept up even as the wind really amped up by midday. We knocked off around 90 minutes early so the guys could take care of some business back home around Albany.

9/2: Guided regular Greg for the full day starting at 6:45. Fishing was excellent for brown trout and a few lakers. Fish ran to 25″. There are loads of alewives in Cayuga and the browns were around the bait.

The last two mornings have been very cold and boating traffic has been light. Water temps are creeping back down towards 69 degrees on the surface.
