Cayuga Lake out of Union Springs 10/26 midday

Reports

Got out with my buddy Terry for around 5 1/2 hours. It was cold out and we were both pretty worn out from our respective workweeks, so we started around 11:30 and fished until close to 5 pm. Water temps have dipped down to 49 to 52 on the surface. We had some stellar pickerel action today with fish up to 24″ and plump. Terry had the hot hand today with his crankbaiting, though I certainly managed to catch my share of fish. Terry also caught a couple decent largemouth bass – 15″ to 16″ers and chunky. We had some perch following today. No pike action. It was cold out (around 43 degrees with wind) and I had fun working my bass gear. Fish came on crankbaits, swimjigs, tubes, spoons and I think we had one or two on spinnerbaits as well. The water looks great and launching was a cinch.

I’m back out on the water over the weekend through Tuesday if the weather holds up. Cornell classes wind up on November 1st, after which I’ll be free to guide 7 days a week. All Saturdays in November remain open apart from the 5th.
