Cayuga Lake out of Long Point 4/16
Guided Ron and his son Matt for a full day getting underway around 10 am. Water temperatures remain cold with surface temps at 41 degrees and 40 degrees down a foot or two. Lake trout fishing was very good for us with steady but unspectacular action all day long. We had overcast conditions, light winds and some rain during the morning which gave way to calm conditions with sun. We had another double-digit day with fish topping out around 30″ long. The guys also dropped double-digits worth of fish today! Fish remain thin to average for the most part. We had one live lamprey come up on a lake trout today, but overall the fish remain very clean. Boat traffic/angling pressure was light out here today, which isn’t too surprising given the forecast for upwards of a 1/2″ of rain and pretty cold conditions (especially when compared to earlier this week when air temps hit 75.)
Doubled up!
