Cayuga Lake out of Long Point 4/29 AM

Reports

Guided Drew, John and Drew for a wet half day of lake trout jigging off of Long Point State Park.  We were originally scheduled for today (4/30) but northwest to west winds gusting to over 40 mph didn’t sound like a whole lot of fun. North winds pushing 30 to 40 mph + are treacherous on big water like Cayuga and Seneca Lakes and certainly Lake Ontario.  Even smaller lakes like Owasco, Skaneateles and Canandaigua can be downright brutal with those wind speeds.

We had good fishing with the guys all catching some fish.  John had the best day.  A good number of fish were also missed and dropped.  We had fish from 115′ to over 150′ FOW.

If you’re looking to book, keep tabs on my availability noted in the previous post.  I had a couple days that were booked for June open up and a few more have booked up.  Very few openings remain in May.

We had one small live lamprey come up on a fish today, but overall the fish still look great.  We received some much needed rain, but still haven’t had enough to really raise the area creeks.
