Cayuga Lake out of Myers 7/26 AM

Reports

Guided Greg today for a half day AM trip starting at 6:30 am.  Fishing was excellent to start with Greg nabbing a hard fighting thick bodied 33″ laker on his third drop of the jig. We released the fish – it was likely at least 12lbs.  Another half dozen fish were landed in the first hour.  We tried some other areas hoping for a salmon or rainbow in addition to lakers.  A few hits were had along with momentary hookups from salmon.  He wound up with 9 solid lakers landed and a few others lost by the boat.  Water visibility remains low on Cayuga Lake but I think there’s a good chance things will clear up shortly.  Either way, it doesn’t appear to be affecting the trout bite.  Nice fish are scattered throughout the lake.  Cayuga Lake has been amazing!  Just a top-notch fishery firing on all cylinders.
