Cayuga Lake out of Myers 7/27 AM

Reports

Had some smokin’ hot laker action today with Frank and Josh.  The guys’ first time out with me was last November. On that day we had some top-notch lake trout action in shallow along with bonus pike and salmon.  It was brutal out – i.e. cold and windy, so Frank called it a day early.  He was happy with the fishing.  Today we set up in an area and never really moved.  We had plenty of fish moving through all morning long.  The guys landed 15 solid fish to 30″ in a little over 2 hours.  Frank was satiated and we called it an early day!  Can’t beat that.  Fish fought very well.  We didn’t have many under 24″ – maybe one or two.

Water is still off-colored due to the bloom, but it’s better than it was 10 days ago.  It isn’t hurting the fishing. Sunday August 4th remains available.  August is the most consistent jigging month on Cayuga Lake for day-in day-out all day action.  Not saying it happens every day, but most days are very solid right through the second week of September.  May is a great month too, but the weather is much more inconsistent and that can screw up the bite.  Most of our activity has been in the 80’+ range.
