Cayuga Lake out of Myers Park 8/6 PM
Guided Mark I. for a half-day starting around 1:15 pm. I had a few friends out in the morning and the report was that the bite was still tough. Lots of fish are around from at least as far north as Long Point to the south end of the lake. Fortunately we started our trip with a beautiful 29″ lake trout on his second drop of the jig, so we knew we were in business. Mark hooked another 5 or 6 fish in short order. We kept a couple for the table. We worked some other areas and Mark picked up a chunky 18″ brown. He had a follow from a considerably larger brown trout as well. We had more hits but the bite window seemed to close a bit for us. All in all, a very good half-day trip. Plenty of pleasure boats were out and Myers was crowded. No photos today. I expect fishing to improve by the day as long as the weather stays steady.
