Cayuga Lake out of Myers Park 9/15 PM

Reports

Got out with Ralph and Lauren just after noon.  Their trip was a late add-on originally scheduled for tomorrow (9/16) but after dealing with wind gusts over 30 mph yesterday I decided to see if they would be willing to boost their date up a day.   The heavy chop and wind can be a drag after a while.  Over the past couple weeks I’ve dealt with three or four high wind days.

The fish were biting when we started and it didn’t take long for Lauren to nab the first laker.  On the day we had a good bite with around 7 fish landed.  One non-laker was dropped late in the day.  Nearly all of our fish were cookie cutter 24″ to 26″ers today.

For those interested, laker propagation netting is scheduled to begin on Monday October 5th.  So if you see the buoys out, please stay away from them.  As the spawn gets closer, the bite windows typically get smaller and sometimes its best to get away from the spawning areas and target non-spawners, which would still be in the feeding mode.

Days are going fast!

In October I am down to the 10th, 18th and 31st.

November remains nearly all wide-open with the exception of the 6th and 7th.
