Cayuga Lake out of Myers Park 9/17 AM

Reports

Guided Paul and his sons Adam and Dave for a 1/2 day trip getting underway just after 8:15 am. The guys have been booking on a 2X a year basis or so for the past few years.  We’ve usually ping-ponged between a hot day fishing and then a tough day.  Last spring we had a pretty tough half-day that we wound up extending to a full day.  Even that wound up being tough for most of the trip, save for the last hour when we put together a reasonable catch of fish.

Today was a very good day.  We made a good run and then got into fish in fairly short order.  We had one very good bite-window and then slow albeit steady fishing after that until we wrapped up.  Good double-digit day with fish running to 30″.  We had a couple older wild fish in the mix.  Most trout have really darkened up and are getting ready to spawn.  Many fish are fat, but that’s likely due to eggs, not baitfish.  We caught fish from 70′ out to maybe 130′.  Plenty of colors worked including Chartreuse Silk, Limetreuse, White/Chartreuse Tail, Smelt, Black and Alewive.

I am gradually getting my old self back after my bout with the flu.  This weekend – 9/23 and 24, remain open for trips.

Dave's 30"er (and note that Dave and Adam both are 6' 2"+!), thus the fish may not look as long as when a shorter person is holding them
