Cayuga Lake out of Myers Park, Midday Report 8/14

Reports

Guided a tight 1/2 day trip with Mark I. starting at around 11:15 am.  I don’t do many midday trips this time of year, but we did some last minute switching around due to the weather forecast for tomorrow.  We tried to fish some areas for brown trout.  Mark nabbed one hard-fighting 20″ chunky brown that grabbed his jig just under the surface.  This fish put on a pretty hot battle for its size, jumping all over the place.  Mark also landed a couple of lakers.  The bite was a bit “off” while we were out, with some fish chasing jigs for a while, but not hitting them.  Water fleas are clearing up.  Plenty of weedmats still abound.  Surface temperatures are around 72 degrees.  Plenty of fish appear available lake-wide.
